Outdoor Living · Montgomery CountyPremium Motorized Screens in The Woodlands, TX
Sable designs premium motorized screen systems around covered patios, outdoor kitchens and pool areas — so sun, insects, privacy and weather stop deciding when the space gets used.
Outdoor rooms should work like rooms.
A covered patio can be beautiful and still go unused. West-facing openings take the afternoon sun, mosquito season runs from spring into autumn, and one storm blowing the wrong direction soaks the furniture.
Motorized screens close the space when you want it closed and disappear when you don't. Sun and glare, insects, privacy, wind-driven weather, seasonal comfort — handled opening by opening, on the patio you already have. How that gets configured is covered in screen solutions, the spaces it goes into are covered in applications, and the planning guides answer the questions that come before any of it.
What keeps you from using the patio?
Start with the problem you want the patio to solve.
Solar & heat control
Cut glare and direct sun on west-facing openings without giving up the view.
Insect protection
Keep the evening usable through a Montgomery County mosquito season that runs from spring into autumn, with airflow intact.
Privacy screens
Soften sightlines from neighbors and the street without walling the space in.
Weather protection
Hold off wind-driven rain and cooler air so the room keeps working outside of summer.
Motorized screen solutions built around the space
Solar, insect, privacy and weather protection can often be configured within a coordinated motorized screen system — four jobs, one set of hardware, set up differently at each opening. Storm protection is a separate product class with its own structural requirements.
System
The motorized track and housing that carries the screen, sized to the opening and integrated into the structure rather than bolted onto it.
Fabric
The mesh or vinyl that rolls into that system. Different weaves solve different problems — shade, insects, sightlines, weather.
Application
Where it goes. A covered patio, an outdoor kitchen, a pergola, a pool surround and a garage each ask for something different.
Control
How you run it. Remote, wall switch, app, or brought into the smart-home system you already use.
In practice that means a single patio can carry solar-control fabric on the west opening, insect mesh on the north, and a panel selected for the side most exposed to wind-driven rain. One system, three different answers.
MagnaTrack® motorized screens
MagnaTrack® is one premium motorized screen system Sable can design around. It is manufactured by Progressive Screens — Sable designs and installs, and the system itself is the manufacturer's.
From first look to first descent
Design consultation
We look at the space with you: how you use it, when it stops working, and which openings actually need to close.
Measure & specify
Every opening is measured and specified on its own — span, mounting surface, fabric, finish, and where the housing disappears.
Design review & planning
Many properties here sit under a residential design-review or HOA process. We help you understand what applies to your installation and what information is commonly needed.
Installation & programming
Once the system is installed, we program the controls and walk you through how everything works.
Designed around the way you use the space
Every outdoor room fails in its own way. The specification should reflect that.
Covered Patios & Outdoor Kitchens
The room you already built, made usable in August and again in October.
Pergolas & Gazebos
Open structures that need shade and insect control without losing what makes them open.
Pool Areas
Glare off the water, insects, privacy, and a moisture-heavy pool environment.
Garages
Full-width screening for a space doing double duty as workshop, gym or hangout.
Restaurants & Hospitality
Patio seating that stays sellable when the weather turns.
New Construction & Recessed Installs
Pockets and tracks designed in early, so nothing has to be surface-mounted later.
Specified for the opening, not the catalog
We are a design and installation company. What we can promise is how the work gets done.
A design-led consultation
We start with how the space fails, not with a product list. If screens are the wrong answer for an opening, we say so.
Opening-by-opening specification
Span, mounting, fabric and finish are decided per opening — nothing defaulted because it was easier to quote.
Built to disappear
Housings and tracks are planned into the architecture rather than sitting on top of it.
Design review raised early
Where a design-review or HOA process applies, it is part of the first conversation instead of a surprise at the end.
Programmed and handed over
We set up the controls, integrate what can be integrated, and make sure you can run the system before we leave.
Built around outdoor living in The Woodlands
The Woodlands is the market this company is built around — a community under a canopy of pines, where covered patios, outdoor kitchens and pools are common. The same conditions come up again and again: heat that lasts well past summer, a mosquito season that runs from spring into autumn, and a residential design-review process worth understanding before work starts.
We work outward from there across Montgomery County and into Harris County and North Houston. Every area has its own page.

Questions homeowners ask first
Can motorized screens be added to an existing covered patio?
Often, yes. Motorized screens can frequently be retrofitted to an existing covered patio. What decides it is the structure: the span of each opening, the mounting surface, and whether there is a clean place for the housing and side tracks to sit. The site measure is what establishes that.
What problems can different screen fabrics help solve?
Broadly: solar meshes cut heat and glare while keeping the view; insect meshes keep bugs out while keeping airflow; denser weaves reduce sightlines for privacy; and vinyl panels hold off wind-driven rain and cooler air.
Openings on the same patio often want different answers, which is why fabric is specified per opening rather than per project. The fabric and mesh guide goes through it in detail.
Do Woodlands homeowners need design approval?
The Covenants require prior written approval for exterior improvements on a lot with an existing single-family dwelling, and screens are an exterior improvement. Requirements vary by village and by property. We help you understand what applies and what information is commonly needed — the design review guide covers the process.
We cannot approve anything ourselves, and we will not tell you a product is automatically compliant.
Can screens integrate with smart-home controls?
Motorized screens can be operated by remote, wall switch or app, and many systems can be brought into a wider smart-home setup. What is actually possible depends on the system specified and the platform you already run — see smart home and screen controls.
What will it cost?
It depends on the number of openings, their size, the material, the mounting method and the electrical work involved. We do not publish price ranges, because a range for a fully custom product is either meaningless or wrong — the cost guide explains every variable so you can read a quote properly.
