Motorized Patio Screens Across North Houston
North Houston is a region rather than a city, so this page is deliberately a service-region page. Here is exactly where we work and what we mean by it.
What We Mean by North Houston
"North Houston" gets used loosely, and it is worth saying plainly what we do and do not mean by it, because it is easy to pretend a region is a neighborhood.
We mean the northern suburban belt spanning Harris and Montgomery counties, along the I-45, SH 249, US 290 and Grand Parkway corridors. In practice that is Spring, Klein, the Champions area, Tomball, Cypress, The Woodlands and the southern half of Montgomery County.
We are not describing the North Houston Management District, which is a defined twelve-square-mile commercial and industrial area inside Houston city limits around Greenspoint, near Bush Intercontinental Airport. And there is a historic settlement called North Houston that has not existed as a functioning community for close to a century. If you are looking for work inside Houston proper, get in touch and we will tell you honestly whether it is a good fit rather than claiming coverage we do not have.
Outdoor Living Across the Northern Suburbs
This is one of the fastest-growing parts of the United States. Harris County added more residents between mid-2023 and mid-2024 than any other county in the country, and Montgomery County grew roughly a quarter between 2020 and 2025 to over 780,000 people.
Much of that growth is master-planned suburban housing built with a covered patio as standard, which is why this region has so many outdoor rooms that end up going unused for a large part of the year.
The conditions are consistent across the whole belt. NOAA climate normals put Bush Intercontinental Airport at roughly a hundred days a year at or above 90°F. Montgomery County Mosquito Control describes the local mosquito season as running May through October. And 2024 supplied two useful reminders that inland is not the same as sheltered — the May derecho, where the National Weather Service estimated gusts around 100 mph over parts of Houston, and Hurricane Beryl in July, which the NWS recorded gusting to 72 knots at Bush Intercontinental.
What varies is the property. Older established housing under mature canopy behaves very differently from a two-year-old house on open prairie, which is why we keep separate pages for each area rather than one regional page pretending they are the same.
Conditions the Whole Belt Shares
Solar, insect, privacy and weather protection can often be configured within a coordinated motorized screen system. Storm protection is a separate product and specification class with its own structural and product requirements.
Solar & Heat Control
Roughly a hundred days a year at or above 90°F, and low afternoon sun that a patio roof does not stop.
InsectsInsect Protection
A mosquito season described locally as May through October can take the evening out of use for half the year.
PrivacyPrivacy Screens
Newer platting across much of the belt puts two-story elevations close together with young landscaping.
WeatherVinyl Weather Protection
Driven rain and cooler months, which decide how many weeks a year a covered patio actually gets used.
Where We Actually Work
Each of these has its own page, because the properties are genuinely different.
Which Space Are We Talking About?
How a Sable Project Is Planned
Design consultation
We look at the space with you: how you use it, when it stops working, and which openings actually need to close.
Measure & specify
Every opening is measured and specified on its own — span, mounting surface, fabric, finish, and where the housing disappears.
Design review & planning
Much of this region runs on deed restrictions and architectural review rather than zoning. We help you understand what a submission commonly needs.
Installation & programming
Once the system is installed, we program the controls and walk you through how everything works.
North Houston FAQ
Do you work inside Houston city limits?
Our footprint is the northern suburban belt across Harris and Montgomery counties. Projects inside Houston proper are outside our usual area — ask, and we will give you a straight answer rather than taking a job we are not the right people for.
Is North Houston a real place?
Not as a residential city. There is a defined North Houston Management District around Greenspoint inside Houston city limits, and a historic settlement of that name that effectively disappeared last century. As a shorthand for the northern suburbs it is widely used, which is why this page exists — but the useful pages are the individual area pages.
Does zoning apply here?
The City of Houston is not zoned, and unincorporated Harris and Montgomery counties have no zoning either. Land use runs on deed restrictions, HOA covenants and municipal utility districts, which is why the architectural review process matters more here than a city planning department would elsewhere.
Do you charge more for projects further out?
Distance affects scheduling more than price. If a project sits at the edge of the footprint we will say so before you spend time on it.
Which page should I read for my area?
Use the area pages above. They are genuinely different — an established Spring patio under mature canopy and a new Cypress build on open prairie have almost nothing in common beyond the climate.
