About

About Sable Outdoor Living

A design and installation company for premium motorized outdoor screens, working on outdoor rooms in The Woodlands, across Montgomery County and into North Houston.

Motorized exterior screens lowered along a covered poolside patio.
What we do

Outdoor rooms should work like rooms.

A covered patio can be beautiful and still go unused. West-facing openings take the afternoon sun, mosquito season runs from spring into autumn, and one shower blowing the wrong direction soaks the furniture.

Sable Outdoor Living designs and installs motorized screen systems that close the space when you want it closed and disappear when you don't. Sun and glare, insects, privacy, wind-driven weather, seasonal comfort — handled opening by opening, on the patio you already have.

Why the company exists

Too Many Outdoor Rooms Are Half-Solved

Drive through The Woodlands and you will find covered patios, outdoor kitchens and pool surrounds that were expensive to build and are used for a fraction of the year. The structure is right. The conditions are not.

A common response is to quote a patio as one number: one fabric, one color, one price per square foot, every opening treated the same. It is faster to sell that way. It also produces a patio where the west side is still unusable at five in the afternoon, or where the one side that needed to stop rain is carrying an insect mesh.

Sable exists to do the slower version. We specify each opening for the job that opening actually has, and we would rather talk you out of screening an opening than sell you one that will not fix anything.

How we work

Specified for the Opening, Not the Catalog

We are a design and installation company. What we can promise is how the work gets done.

A design-led consultation

We start with how the space fails, not with a product list. If screens are the wrong answer for an opening, we say so.

Opening-by-opening specification

Span, mounting, fabric and finish are decided per opening — nothing defaulted because it was easier to quote.

Built to disappear

Housings and tracks are planned into the architecture rather than sitting on top of it.

Design review raised early

Where a design-review or HOA process applies, it is part of the first conversation instead of a surprise at the end.

Programmed and handed over

We set up the controls, integrate what can be integrated, and make sure you can run the system before we leave.

The specification philosophy

Four Layers, Decided Separately

We specify every opening across the same four layers — system, fabric, application and control. Keeping them separate is what stops a project defaulting to whatever is easiest to order.

01

System

The motorized track and housing that carries the screen, sized to the opening and integrated into the structure rather than bolted onto it.

02

Fabric

The mesh or vinyl that rolls into that system. Different weaves solve different problems — shade, insects, sightlines, weather.

03

Application

Where it goes. A covered patio, an outdoor kitchen, a pergola, a pool surround and a garage each ask for something different.

04

Control

How you run it. Remote, wall switch, app, or brought into the smart-home system you already use.

It also makes a quote readable. If you know which layer a line item belongs to, you can tell whether you are comparing two specifications or two guesses.

Sable and the manufacturers

We Install Screens. We Do Not Make Them.

The systems we install are manufactured by other companies. MagnaTrack®, made by Progressive Screens, is one premium system we can design around.

That means the engineering, the spans, the fabric range, the finishes, the motor and control options and the warranty terms are the manufacturer's, not ours. We do not invent specifications, we do not repeat performance figures from memory, and we confirm what a system is rated for against the manufacturer's current published specifications before it goes into a quote.

What is ours is the specification decision, the installation, the programming and the handover. That is the part of the job you are actually hiring us for.

Straight answers

What We Will and Won't Tell You

Outdoor living is a category with a lot of confident marketing in it. A few things worth saying plainly:

  • We do not manufacture screen systems, and the technical specifications for anything we quote belong to its manufacturer.
  • We confirm spans, fabrics, finishes, ratings and control options against the manufacturer's current specifications for your openings instead of quoting numbers from memory.
  • We do not publish wind ratings, approval numbers, openness percentages or price ranges on this website. Those change, and a number on a web page is not a specification.
  • Where a residential design-review or HOA process applies, we help you understand the requirements that may apply and identify the information commonly needed. We cannot approve anything, we cannot guarantee an outcome, and we will not tell you a product or color automatically complies.
  • If motorized screens are the wrong answer for an opening — or for the whole space — we will tell you before you spend money on them. The comparison guide exists partly for that reason.
  • We do not publish customer details or project locations, and nothing on this site should be read as a claim about a specific installation. Product photography is manufacturer marketing material.
Where we work

Based Around The Woodlands

The Woodlands is the market this company is built around — a community under a canopy of pines, where covered patios, outdoor kitchens and pools are common. We work outward from there across Montgomery County and into Harris County and North Houston.

Consultations happen at your property rather than at a showroom.

How it works

From First Look to First Descent

01

Design consultation

We look at the space with you: how you use it, when it stops working, and which openings actually need to close.

02

Measure & specify

Every opening is measured and specified on its own — span, mounting surface, fabric, finish, and where the housing disappears.

03

Design review & planning

Many properties here sit under a residential design-review or HOA process. We help you understand what applies to your installation and what information is commonly needed.

04

Installation & programming

Once the system is installed, we program the controls and walk you through how everything works.
